Apollo Heights

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the frontman of Lower East Side-based group Apollo Heights, Daniel Chavis. Their album, White Music for Black People, is a progressive display of experimental sounds. Their single, "Everlasting Gobstopper," is a creation of beautiful noise and wonderfully unbridled vocals; it reminds me of an upgraded positively angst-y song from the early 90s. They are currently signed to Manimal Vinyl Records, label of the sensational Bat for Lashes and VOICEsVOICEs.
Check out this live performance of "Everlasting Gobstopper" live at Ella in NYC.
